Toy retailer entertains web upgrade
Independent toy retailer The Entertainer has completed a website refresh and contracted ecommerce specialist Escalate Retail to provide a software suite for the back-end. The implementation cost just over 400,000, including overall hosting, development and license costs, in the first year but since the system went live in October 2007, one of the retailer's sites, thetoyshop.com, has increased sales by 147 per cent, according to The Entertainer's online marketing and ecommerce manager Richard Bewley. silicon.com Retail & Leisure Get the latest retail and leisure news straight to your inbox. Football recruiting
I had the chance to watch Julio at the Under Armour All-American Game and he's pretty good, but after having seen them both play, A.J. is a better receiver," McKissick said. "I've been asked over the years, 'Who is the greatest football player you've ever had?' and I never answered because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. "While we've had several great ones, now I don't mind saying A.J. is the best all-around athlete we've ever had." Interview With Mike Huckabee; Interview With Mike McConnell
Last night you tried your hand at "Saturday Night Live," during the "Weekend Update" segment. I want to play a little segment of the show. And then we'll talk about it on the other side. Let's listen. HUCKABEE: All right. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) SETH MEYERS, "SNL WEEKEND UPDATE ANCHOR": Even if you won every remaining unpledged delegate, you would still fall 200 delegates short. (LAUGHTER) HUCKABEE: Wow. Seth, that was an excellent explanation. (LAUGHTER) But I'm afraid that you overlooked the all-important superdelegates. Don't forget about them. MEYERS: Well, I won't forget about them. But the superdelegates are only in the Democratic primaries.

National experts on juvenile crime urge states to invest in this type of counseling and rehabilitation, instead of confinement and punishment, as a way to stem adult crime and incarcerations. But for the last 20 years, most states have gone in the opposite direction, said Liz Ryan, director of the Campaign for Youth Justice. A series of high-profile youth crimes in the mid-1980s spurred most states to adopt tough juvenile crime laws, which resulted in overcrowded corrections facilities, scandals over abusive and punitive treatment and corrections budgets that often surpassed the cost of public education, Ryan said.
Kaliningrad Region
Therapeutic peat mud and highly mineralized water located deep underground are widely used in the region's health care services. ECONOMY Kaliningrad Region belongs to the group of regions with a low gross regional product (GRP). The region's geographic location and geopolitical situation, as well as its ice-free coastline and nearness to the Atlantic Ocean, have a strong influence on its economic development. On January 22, 1996, the President of the Russian Federation signed the Federal Law "On the Special Economic Zone in Kaliningrad Region," which grants special privileges to economic entities in the region. The creation of the Amber (Yantar) special economic zone was necessary in order to accelerate the region's socioeconomic development, provide favorable conditions for attracting foreign capital and technologies, and increase export opportunities.
